August Osage County                          Trailer

There is big time Oscar potential with this Meryl Streep film. After watching the trailer many would be surprised to know it’s based on a play by Tracy Letts, the playwright who wrote Bug and Killer Joe.

It opens November 8th.

Fruitvale Station                         Trailer

The Winner of both the Sundance Film Festival Audience and Grand Jury Prizes, Fruitvale Station opens on July 12th.

Speed 3                           Trailer

Captain Phillips
                          Trailer

(Ian) Greengrass. Hanks. Pirates. October 11th. Chad will be there. We all probably will.

What great film with a Millionaire character would you recommend to us and our audience?

Inside Llewyn Davis                Trailer

(Ian) Let’s see if Eric can handle all the folk music and still enjoy what looks like another worthy Coen film.

Inside Llewyn Davis opens in the US on December 6th.

The World’s End                 Teaser

(Ian) A comedy that actually looks funny! I could get used to that.

The World’s End opens in the US on October 25th.

Ender’s Game                      Trailer

(Ian) Ender’s Game has some passionate fans, but at least a few of us here on the podcast are unfamiliar with the source material. We may need some convincing on why we should give the film a chance. It releases on November 1st.

What do you love about Ender’s Game? Why should we see and discuss it?

The Butler                 Trailer

(Ian) This is almost universally expected to be a trainwreck. Robin Williams plays Dwight Eisenhower, John Cusack plays Richard Nixon, Alan Rickman plays Ronald Reagan, Jane Fonda plays Nancy Reagan and Liev Schreiber plays Lyndon Johnson. The stars of the film are Forrest Whitaker and David Oyelowo.

It Opens on October 18th.

I’m one of the few who liked Lee Daniels The Paperboy so who the hell knows. OPRAH!!!!

Upstream Color is now available OnDemand and on DVD. We are excited to finally discuss it on the podcast on Friday.

We will also talk Jeff Nichol’s Mud, Robert Redford’s The Company You Keep,Baz Luhrman’s The Great Gatsby and Iron Man 3

In Case You Missed Episode 47!

On Episode #47 we discussed Danny Boyle’s Trance, Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper in Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines and Brandon Cronenberg’s Antiviral.

We also talked film news, gave our “K-Billy’s Super Sounds of the Cinema” film picks, Ian N. talks Motown in Film in his There Will Be Words segment and then we mentioned anything else we’ve viewed of late in the Quick Fix

(Eric) Here is the alternate ending to SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK that showed up via MTV a couple days ago.  It is understandable why it got the ax,  but I would throw that dude out of my house too for the same reason.  Enjoy.
