We want your DVD picks for “A Time to Kilt!”

Happy Easter weekend everyone.  Episode #70 records tonight including full reviews of  TRANSCENDENCE,  JOE,  ENEMY,  THE RAID 2,  and  UNDER THE SKIN.

Our feature segment is “A Time to Kilt” which is any film with any ties to Scotland.  Scottish actors, directors, films set in Scotland,  a film with a lot of Scotch being consumed,  whatever you like.  We would love to include your DVD picks on the show.

Email us at flicksationpodcast@gmail.com,  call or text us via our voicemail line (608)535-9302,  or leave us an answer below.

What is your DVD pick for “A Time to Kilt?”

Gone Girl              Trailer

(Ian)  I’m in the minority of readers that didn’t think the book was great. There was definitely a film in there, but due to some overly cutesy writing, it didn’t entirely work for me. My hope is with Flynn adapting her own novel, that by filtering it through Fincher, it becomes something more.

A Most Wanted Man          Trailer

Anton Corbijn’s adaptation of a John Le Carre novel, A Most Wanted Man, starring PSH in one of his final performances, releases on July 25th

Obviously we highly anticipated this one.

God’s Pocket              Trailer

The word out of Sundance on John Slattery’s directorial debut, God’s Pocket, due to release on May 9th, has not been good, but it’d be very hard to pass on one of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s last performances.

Expect it to be discussed on The Flicksation Podcast soon.

Maps to the Stars                Trailer

(Ian) David Cronenberg’s new film is surely near the top of my most anticipated list. There may not be a young actress attaching herself to more interesting material of late than Mia Wasikowska. Plus RPatz!

The Homesman         Trailer

(Ian) In case you needed a dose of Tommy Lee Jones.

Episode #69 of The Flicksation Podcast is up!

Eric, Chad, Ian, and Robert review and discuss the films NOAH, &  CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER.   PIERROT LE FOU  is the topic du jour on the Film School segment. .

Recent film and entertainment news items are discussed.

In the Quick Fix segment we make mention of other things we have seen recently including:  NYMPHOMANIAC VOL. 2,  BLOOD TIES,  NON STOP,  HIDE THEIR SMILING FACES,  THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL,  CAPTAIN PHILLIPS,  AMERICAN HUSTLE

The Drop                       Trailer

This comes from the director of Bullhead, stars James Gandolfini (amongst a ton of talent) and is right near the top of all of our must watch lists. The Drop, formerly known as Animal Rescue, releases on September 19th.

Episode 68 Reminder! Muppets, Hitchcock, Wes Anderson and Cheap Thrills

Episode 68 featured discussions of Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, the SXSW hit Cheap Thrills and Muppets Most Wanted.

We dug into some recent film news, went to Film School with Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 classic, The 39 Steps, and then closed out with a few other things we’ve viewed of late in the Quick Fix.

TRANSCENDENCE     trailer…

(Eric) The first trailer is out for Wally Pfister’s directorial debut TRANSCENDENCE.    Depp, Freeman, and Kate Mara star. I am going to avoid seeing this trailer until I am forced to in the theater because I am definitely an opening day attendee.

NIGHT MOVES      International Trailer…

(Eric) The new trailer for Kelly Reichardt’s latest, NIGHT MOVES.   I guess Peter Sarsgaard is the new go-to guy for films about environmental terrorism. I am looking forward to this quite a bit…
