Thoughts on Dark Shadows or The Dictator?

The Flicksation Podcast Episode #25 records Sat May 19th. Our panel will be reviewing both DARK SHADOWS and THE DICTATOR. We’d really like to hear what some of you thought of the films. (or whatever else you want to say really)

Call our voicemail line at (608)535-9302. Leave us a semi-brief message with your name, location (unless a fugitive) and your feelings on the film(s). We’ll make your voicemail part of the show. (and edit it to make you sound brilliant if need be, so don’t be shy)

So, what’s your Set in the 70’s DVD pick?

The Campaign                         Trailer

(Ian) Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis square off as competing southern politicians. Oh and there is baby punching, so I’m in.   This releases on August 10th.

The Gangster Squad                        Trailer

(Ian) The cast here is remarkable and the trailer makes me positive it will be highly entertaining. With Ruben Fleischer (30 Minutes or Less, Zombieland) directing I’m obviously a little worried. I think it could be great or so bad it’s funny, but I hope for the former. Penn looks to be going ridiculously over the top and the voice Gosling is using also cracked me up. THE GANGSTER SQUAD has no release date yet as it’s late 2012 one has been yanked for the time being.

I’m excited, anyone else?

Argo                              Trailer

(Ian) I think Ben Affleck is 2 for 2 as a director with GONE BABY GONE and THE TOWN to a lesser extent. ARGO, which releases Oct 12th sports a fantastic cast and looks really interesting based on this trailer. I think it’s going to be a tricky tone to balance, but if Affleck can do that, it looks like a good view and a potentially populist Oscar Contendor.  Did this trailer get anyone else excited about ARGO?

The Watch                                        Trailer

(Ian) After a name change from NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH to THE WATCH as a way of distancing itself from the George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin situation, we finally get the full red-band trailer for the film. It opens July 27th and The Flicksation Podcast will be reviewing it.

Mansome                                      Trailer

(Ian) I have a feeling Morgan Spurlock’s latest, MANSOME, produced by Jason Bateman and Will Arnett is going to leave much to be desired. I like Spurlock a lot, but this looks like to weak Docs in a row. I hope I’m wrong.
